Vittoria Panizzon - Heading for the bigger competitions

We have finally got out Eventing! It really has been the most awful spring and whilst we are now on our Plan E, I do feel so sorry for all of the organisers and teams involved in putting on the events, which have sadly been forced to abandon. Fingers crossed the weather is kind to us for the rest of the season!!

The youngsters all had a good run at Aston Le Walls to kick start their Eventing careers! They were all fantastic and we came away with 5 out of 5 double clears and all of the horses were placed in the top 10. After a long winter producing the babies it is so satisfying for the team to see them out enjoying themselves!

Thankfully Belton was able to go ahead and we were very grateful to give the big boys a run. Super Cillious was delighted to be having his first run of the season and finished a very credible 5th place after cruising round the cross country course with such ease! Chequers Play The Game produced a lovely clear round in the show jumping, proving that the hard work this winter is paying off! He then made the tough CIC3* course feel easy when it was causing plenty of problems, so we were all very pleased!

Next up was Broadway where the babies did their first BE100. We had a lovely weekend and love going there. It is fairly local to us and many of our owners so it is always very sociable! Again, they all made the step up feel very easy so there is certainly lots to look forward to!

We’ve just got back from a great weekend at Chatsworth Horse Trials. Chequers Play The Game had a brilliant weekend in the highly competitive Leg 1 of the Event Rider Masters Series. It is such a brilliant development to our sport and so much fun to take part in. Chatsworth is a very hilly course and the time is always tight but thanks to the local farmers at home for allowing me to do my canter work in their hilly fields Elvis was feeling fit and ready for the challenge! Elvis was a total pro and finished in 6th place!

We now have a couple more events before hopefully heading off for the big spring competitions!!

Wish us luck!
