Congratulations to Pippa and the Pony European Team Pippa and her team mates are celebrating after winning Team Gold at the Pony European Championships in Germany. Pippa, who is two years younger than her team mates at just thirteen, had just one fence down in each round to help the team secure victory and, with British riders also clinching gold and bronze in the individual competition, Pippa was close behind them in equal fourth place. |

Belgian Success For Pippa Pippa Allen, who is sponsored by Nedz Bed, has capped off a tremendous season with a win at Moorsele in Belgium and a fifth in the Grand Prix on the final day. Riding David Miller's appaloosa mare, Spot The Lady, Pippa had already claimed the 148 Grand Prix at the Scope Festival and been placed third in the Young Show Jumper of the Year, so she was thrilled to add this international victory to her tally on the combination's first attempt at overseas competition. Pippa said, "It has been a great experience. I have learnt a lot through coming out here to compete and I'm thrilled with the way Spot the Lady has performed." |

Horse Of The Year Champion Again! Pippa Allen is yet again celebrating victory at Horse of the Year Show having last year claimed the 128 Show Jumping title and followed up this year in the 138 Show Jumping Championship. Despite having a fence down in the jump off on her best hope, Strawberry Fair, Pippa was fortunate enough to have another two ponies qualified and, riding the inexperienced seven year old, Sakama Chezni, who had been considered her outside chance, she was able to produce an unbeatable round of jumping to take the 138 title by a margin of more than 1 second. Pippa also produced some classic riding in her first attempt at the Leading Junior Show Jumper of the Year title, riding the striking 148cm mare, Spot The Lady, on whom she took third place. And her eight year old sister, Millie, was not to be outdone in the performance stakes, taking fourth place with the fastest four faults in the 128 championship at her first attempt. |

Northern Riders Triumph At Scope Festival Cleveland-based junior show jumpers, Pippa and Millie Allen, who are sponsored by Mountain Horse and Nedz Bed, are celebrating after both claiming a National title at the recent Scope/BSJA Festival. Pippa, who won all the 128cm National titles in 2005 with Silver Wonder in her last year in the category, handed on the Championship mantle to her eight year old sister, Millie, who rode Adrian O’Lone’s Flinor Songbird to victory in this year’s competition. Pippa was not to be outdone, however, and claimed the Dunglenn 148cm Championship title on Spot The Lady, which was the perfect preparation for the pair’s first attempt at the Young Show Jumper of the Year title at Horse of the Year Show this October. Meanwhile, Cheshire-based Geoff Billington, who is also sponsored by Nedz Bed, has been having a tremendous summer with his string of talented young horses and, following a tremendous British Nations Cup victory in Bratislava, when he jumped the winning round in the Nations Cup and took third in the Grand Prix with Lady Rowallan’s Cassabachus, he rode the same horse to claim the National Gentleman’s Championship title at the Scope Festival. Geoff Billington Joins the Nedz Bed Team Nedz Bed is proud to announce that it is to sponsor international show jumper Geoff Billington. Geoff, who has twice been a member of the British Olympic Show Jumping Team, as well as winning bronze medals at both the European and World Championships, will be using the popular Nedz Pro, which is a virtually dust-free bedding that is incredibly absorbent and can be mucked out just once a week. Nedz Bed’s Managing Director, Nick Cooper, said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Geoff and his exciting team of talented young horses. He has a tremendous performance record and is a wonderful ambassador for show jumping. We hope that, by using Nedz Pro, Geoff will be able to help ensure that his horses perform to the best of their ability as our bedding is designed to aid respiratory function and thus ensure effective oxygen intake for maximum performance.” Geoff said, “When travelling all around Europe, we can never be sure what bedding is going to be provided for our horses. We just can’t afford to gamble with their health by having to bed them on musty straw or dusty shavings. I am thrilled that, thanks to Nedz Bed's generous sponsorship, I can overcome the risk factor – I take Nedz Bed everywhere I go so that now I can be sure that my horses are comfortable, in a dust-free environment. For me and my horses, Nedz Bed is the best!” Nedz Bed also sponsor international show jumper, Peter Murphy and top Junior show jumpers, Pippa and Millie Allen, and Nedz Pro is the official bedding sponsor of the 2006 Pony Club Championships. NedzBed Expands Southern Outlets Pegasus Products has spent the last two years developing and enhancing two superb bedding products which have taken the North by storm and are now available through retail outlets across the South of England via their new processing plant in Oxfordshire. If you are struggling to source good quality shavings or are looking for a high quality, consistent and reliable bedding product that doesn’t break the bank, then NedzBed has the answer! Nedz Pro and Nedz Original both undergo a thorough dust-extraction process that keeps dust to an absolute minimum and both are treated with a unique formula that combines a medicated substance to kill mould and fungal spores, plus a bitter additive to discourage even the greediest horses from eating it and eucalyptus oil to improve breathing. Nedz Pro is manufactured from chopped oil seed rape straw, which makes a comfortable bed that horses love and is so highly absorbent that it only needs to be mucked out once a week. It does not walk around the stable once established and contains wet in a compact area at the base of the bed, leaving the surface dry. Nedz Original is made from wheat straw and provides a soft, fluffy bed that rivals shavings for absorbency and provides a traditional-style bedding with none of the traditional disadvantages. As both Pro and Original are very absorbent, waste is kept to a minimum and what is thrown onto the muck heap rots down extremely quickly. NedzBed is already the choice of many professional yards, including that of international show jumper, Peter Murphy, and the owners of 2005 Grand National winner, Hedgehunter. NedzBed Announce Sponsorship of Peter Murphy Nedzbed, the outstanding minimal dust bedding products, announced its sponsorship of Peter Murphy at Hickstead’s British Jumping Derby meeting in August. Peter, who is based near Preston, in Lancashire, is a highly-regarded BSJA-accredited trainer and a renowned producer of horses. He currently has seven of his own horses in competition, with top horse, Atlantis, travelling to Hickstead for the DFS Derby. With two other extremely talented Grade A horses in Taomie Star and Grazie, and a number of young prospects to bring on, Peter needed a high quality bedding product that would be easy to manage and that would not impact upon the integrity of his horses’ respiratory systems. Peter said, “I was introduced to Nedzbed Pro and Original at the Royal Lancashire Show and was very impressed by both products. We have just started to use the Nedzbed Pro and are extremely happy with its performance – it looks clean and comfortable, there is no dust and the horses really seem to like it.” Nedzbed Pro is a unique bedding product manufactured from chopped oil seed rape straw that has been produced to the highest standards, using a highly efficient dust extraction process and being medicated, coated with eucalyptus oil to aid breathing, and treated with a bitter additive to discourage horses from eating it. Because it is incredibly absorbent, it only needs to be mucked out once a week, saving valuable time for busy horse owners. Nedzbed Original is made from chopped wheat straw and is subjected to the same dust extraction and treatment processes as the Pro. The chopped fibres make the bedding more manageable than traditional straw and more absorbent and, due to the treatment process, as with the Pro, not even the greediest horse will want to eat it, unlike conventional straw bedding. Nick Cooper, Managing Director of Nedzbed manufacturers, Pegasus Products, said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Peter Murphy. He is a talented and professional competitor at the highest level and understands the need for quality, cost-effective bedding that keeps dust to a minimum. We also sponsor a top Junior rider in Pippa Allen and are delighted to continue our association with show jumping by sponsoring such a high profile competitor on the Senior circuit, who is also very local to us, being based just five miles from our headquarters, near Preston.” August 2005 |
