Victoria Bax - July's just desserts

July has been probably the best month is 2017 for me so far.  We appear to be well and truly on the up.  I mean it's not often you get 2 podium finishes in one weekend, plus a further 3 top ten placing another weekend!

Lucy Straker - Hello and Goodbye

The last month has been like a whirlwind here at Lucy Straker Dressage!!! Firstly Alfie did his first Premier League Inter 2 at Wellington and let's just say he was a little wild! Not only did we enter the beautiful new arena there bronking and squealing with excitement he then produced some wonderful trot work and piaffe and passage but then the excitement took over again when we went into canter with a lot more squealing!!

Team King - Ending the Spring season


May has flown by, and now we are already at the end of the spring season. I thoroughly enjoyed going off to the 3 day events in May, firstly Houghton CCI* with Billy. He was such a good boy doing a PB in the dressage, clear in the time XC, but sadly 1 SJ down made us slip rapidly from 3rd to 13th! (85 starters)..but overall am very happy with his progress this spring.

Victoria Bax - Cross-country frustrations

Last month saw Crystal Ka head off to Keysoe to contend the Open Novice class, where he started with a good dressage score to be laying about 4th, followed by one of only a handful of clear rounds in the Showjumping, but then sadly things didn't quite go to plan on the cross country course where we managed to pick up 20 penalties at a steep incline with a log/brush fence at the top of it. We jumped part A, kicked on up the slope but we just didn't meet the fence in the right place and there was no way we could jump it safely, so we circled round, approached again and popped over sweetly to finish the course.
