Steph prepares for the Regionals and Mr P's progress looks promising

Steph Croxford updates us on her news. "Simon has had his cast off and although I thought he would hit the ground running it appears it is going to be a slower process than I thought," Steph admits. "He is now in intensive physio and still on crutches so I think it will be weeks until he is back in the saddle. It is his left foot as well so getting on board could be a problem!"

Mary looks forward to the Europeans but faces disappointment with Fernhill Urco

When we caught up with Mary this month she was sipping wine on a boat in Cornwall having taken a couple of days off to spend some time with her family. With the hectic next few months she has coming up, we certainly don't blame her! Our last blog signed off as Mary was on her way to Glanusk with daughter Emily to compete in her first Junior Championships. "She did very well," Mary tells us. "She was 4th, and it was only her first time competing against the top Junior riders. Following this result she has been long listed for the Junior Europeans in Portugal in September, she still has two final trials to do still and she is the youngest rider on the team with a young horse so we will see what happens."

Steph has her hands full this month!

This month when we caught up with Steph Croxford she was up to her arms in.... jam making! Yes, due to the abundance of strawberries (better than Sainsbury's according to Steph) and blackcurrants they have growing she was tackling the brave task of making jam with two small children! "Currently I am looking after 7 horses, 8 puppies, 2 children and a husband with a broken leg," she tells us. "Simon was riding Captain Mac (the 3 year old) down to the field when a nesting pheasant jumped out of a bush! Simon tried to land on his feet but instead snapped his leg in two places just above the ankle!"

Mary celebrates her birthday and another successful 4 star event

This month's blog sees a slightly slower pace for Mary after the previous two months, but we do love finding out how the horses are getting on and where they are aiming for next! "After an amazing trip to Croatia for my birthday - where eight of us sailed around the islands in the most beautiful weather - Apache Sauce was re-routed to Luhmuhlen having been withdrawn from Badminton after performing an average dressage test," Mary explains.

Geoff Billington updates us on the season so far

We chatted to Mr Billington to find out how he has been getting on over the past month. "The horses are all going really well," he says. "Upper Cut won the big class at Bramham and then came 4th in the Grand Prix. We took the younger horses, Balloon and Apollo Star, to Balmoral where they both went well, with Apollo Star coming 7th in the Top Score and Balloon had two down in the Grand Prix which I was pleased with."

"Apart from the horses, including the newest arrival George – who we still don’t know what colour he is going to be – we also now have 8 Miniature Schnauzer puppies in our house," Steph tells us. "This is the second litter that Tinker has had and this time they just kept on coming!"
